Whilst we were out and about in Doncaster we came across Dunkin’ Donuts. When we had been bowling the last couple of times we had noticed it but had always just driven past. We decided that this time we would go in and have a nosey and see what donuts they had to offer. Here is our Our First Experience of Dunkin’ Donuts.
Stepping in
Entering Dunkin’ Donuts was a pleasant surprise as it was really spacious and the décor was very modern and fresh. It was lovely and cool which was most welcomed as outside it was so hot. A very happy looking lady greeted us straight away as we made our way to the counter. We let the people behind us go first as we had not quite decided which yummy donuts to buy. We joined the queue again once we had all decided which donuts we wanted to try. Queueing only took a couple of minutes before it was our turn to be served. We ordered a box of 6 and choose 2 Strawberry Sprinkle donuts, a Strawberry Swirl, Lemon Meringue, Apple Crumble and a Chocolate Glazed Cake donut. The donuts were served in a cute Dunkin’ Donuts branded box. Once i had paid I was given my receipt and the lady explained that if I filled out the survey then I would be given a code and I had to write it on the receipt. If I took it back with me next time i visited and I bought a hot drink I could get a free donut.
Not Really a fan of Donuts
I am not actually a donut lover and they are not something that I would ever choose to buy. Apart from having a bite out of a donut that you buy from the seaside I have never even eaten a full donut. Normally the stereotypical smell you get from the seaside donuts is a greasy one. Today I decided that I would be a devil and try one of the Dunkin’ Donut donuts. Oh my, I was totally blown away. I went for the Strawberry Sprinkle donut and it was delicious. It literally just melted in my mouth. The donut was so light and fluffy and the strawberry topping was the perfect sweet addition. I never imagined it would taste so good. The boys were all tucking into their donuts and they loved them. All the donuts we tried were incredible and so tasty.
Fantastic Service
Shane decided that he would like to try an iced coffee with added hazelnut shot in it. He really enjoyed it. The boys and I each chose regular drinks. Service was fantastic and we received our donuts and drinks really quickly. 5 girls were working at the time of our visit. They all looked happy to be working and they were all busy getting on with their individual jobs. It made a nice change to visit somewhere where and all the staff look happy. Especially as it was Bank Holiday weekend and a Sunday evening.
Time to leave
We drank our drinks and visited the toilets before leaving. The toilets were clean and well presented. We rounded everyone up and as we were leaving we thanked the girls. We informed them it was the first time we had visited and it had been a total pleasure. The donuts and drinks were great and we complimented all the girls on the service we had received. All the girls thanked us and off we went.
Feeling pleased that we had taken the time to visit. We left and we all said that we would definitely like to visit again soon.
Off for a wander
We started to have a wander around the Dome complex when a few minutes into our walk something bizarre happened. Something that never normally happens to us. We were walking along and one of the members of staff from Dunkin Donuts was running across the road. We thought that she was just delivering donuts. How wrong could we be, She was in fact running after us with a FREE box of 6 donuts. She wanted to give us the donuts to say Thank You for taking the time to compliment them and all the staff were pleased to hear such positive comments.
We were left speachless
We were totally speechless, and that doesn’t happen very often. She explained she was the store manager and she wanted to thank us personally. She feels it is too easy for people to go on line and leave negative reviews. But it was really nice that we had taken the time to tell them in person of our positive experience. We were totally bowled over by her kind gesture. When we have had a really good experience we do try and pass on our thanks. People need a boost to make them feel appreciated and their efforts recognised. Still slightly speechless, Jay even commented that we don’t normally get anything for free for saying thank you. We do try to take the time to say thank you and we do it as we are generally pleased. Sometimes recognition is genuinly due, we don’t just give recognition to try and gain things for free.
The kids were overjoyed with another box of 6 donuts. We saved for the donuts for the following day . Our First Experience of Dunkin’ Donuts was amazing and is definitely worth a visit. I’m sure we will be back again soon.
