As the year comes to an end, it’s that time again where i like to share with you all the books that i have read in 2025. I have really enjoyed all the books that i have read this year. Although, I am just a little bit disappointed that i didn’t manage to read a few more. I have so many books ready to read and share with you. Literally i have 2 big boxes full of books, which shows i do a far better job at collecting them than reading them. So, hopefully next year there will be more spare time for reading. But for now here are all the books that i read in 2025.

Our Ladbaby Journey, Success Sacrifice & Sausage Rolls by Mark and Roxanne Hoyle
As soon as I knew Mark and Roxanne were going to release a book I knew that I wanted to read it. I have loved watching them both on social media and I love the positivity they bring.
Their books takes a look at their journey from being a young couple, to having a baby and highlights all the real life struggles they faced. Navigating their way through working to pay the bills, being new parents, maternity leave and all other life struggles. When life got better and they started seeing success from their social media accounts this also brought new issues in the form of the dreaded trolls.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading their book from the moment I started it. They both have a very inspirational story of how they started out as a normal couple with normal everyday struggles. It documents how they have grown and evolved whilst sharing their lives on social media. It really does show that you can achieve anything you want, you just have to keep showing up. I would highly recommend reading Ladbaby’s book.

Money Matrix by Rob Moore
This is not the usual book that I would read, however I was quite intrigued to learn what Rob Moore has to say about the money Matrix. Rob Moore became a millionaire in his 30’s so I knew he has a good insight into money, how to earn it and how it all works. I find the whole money system really interesting and its almost like it is another secret world out there. Throughout the book Rob offers a great insight on how you could achieve personal freedom and independent wealth. He focuses a lot on the 4 Ms which are make, manage, multiply and maintain your money. The advice and formulas that he shares are really easy to understand and make total sense.
Rob also shares his knowledge on many aspects of running a business, housing markets, capitalism, recurring income and much more. There is a chapter for everyone in this book. If you are seriously interested in earning money and making your money work for you then Money Matrix is the best book to read.

A Walk In The Park by Jill Mansell
I do love a Jill Mansell book so I was really looking forwards to reading this book. I was not disappointed. Right from the start I was in love with the characters. Lara moved away from Bath 18 years ago following an argument with her father. Lara left behind her first boyfriend, Flynn. Little did anyone know was that she was hiding a secret. Lara was pregnant. Lara took refuge with her Auntie who took her in and kept her secret hidden.
Upon Lara’s return to Bath she bumps into her childhood best friend, Evie. Evie is about to marry to Joel. Evie believed Joel was her dream man but this turns out not to be the case. Lara attends the wedding and bumps into Flynn, reigniting her feelings for him. On the morning of the wedding everything changed for both Evie and Lara. Little did both Evie and Lara realise that there would be many bumps in the roads and lots of secrets to be revealed. A walk in the park was a heartwarming read right from the start with lots of twists. I love the way Jill makes the characters so relatable its hard not to fall in love with them. I would certainly recommend reading this book.

A Recipe For Christmas by Jo Thomas
This is the first book that I have read by Jo Thomas. I originally got this book from a book exchange that are all popping up everywhere inside old phone boxes. I really enjoyed this book right from the start and I loved all the characters. The story is centred around Clara who loves Christmas and chocolate. Feeling old and left behind she met Daniel, who was moving to Switzerland to start a new job. Clara felt it was the right time to leave her HR job and embark on a new chapter.
Starting a new life in Switzerland was not easy. Clara decided to enrol on a local chocolate making course whilst she settled in and to fill her days whilst her boyfriend was at work. It soon became clear that she was the outsider and everyone seemed against her. Even her relationship with Daniel wasn’t working. Clara decided to leave the apartment she shared with Daniel and move into the student accommodation with the students on the chocolate course. This is when everything started to fall into place for Clara and she really started to get noticed and be accepted. Eventually Clara found romance with Gabriel just in time for Christmas. It was a really heartwarming romantic story that I would recommend reading.

My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella
Kate thought she had the perfect life, she has the perfect job (in her eyes) , a flat in London and a very trendy instagram feed. Well that is what she makes out she has to all her instagram followers and friends. In reality she rents a tiny room in a flat share with no space. Kate also has a long commute each day to her basic admin job. But a girl can dream and hope her perfect life materialisers.
When Kate’s boss sacks her from her job, she has no choice but to go back home to Somerset. Whilst she is there she helps her dad and stepmum set up a glamping business at their farm. Putting all her marketing skills to the test she helps them create a really successful business.
A surprise for Kate
Kate is surprised when one day her old boss, Dermeter shows up at the camp site with her family. kate immediately sees this as an opportunity to get revenge on her old boss. Kate creates special activities just for her boss that puts her through her paces. Dermeter does not recognise Kate so Kate’s plan works well. As she gets to know her old boss more and more, Kate soon starts to realise that Demeter may look like she has the perfect life. But in reality she has far from the perfect life. Eventually Kate’s identity is revealed and Kate sets about helping Demeter sort her life out.
I found My not so perfect life a fantastic read right from the start. It kept me gripped as to what will happen next. With lots of twists in the story it was hard to predict what would happen next or put the book down. I would highly recommend reading My not so perfect life, especially if you are a Sophie Kinsella fan.

Confessions of a forty-something f##k up by Alexandra Potter
I have wanted to read this book for the longest time, so i was really excited to start reading it. Right from the start i was hooked. The book is centred around Nell, at 40 something her life is a hot mess. Single, jobless, renting a room from Edward and a past full of failed relationships. All her friends seem to have their lives together, husbands, great jobs and kids, this leaves Nell feeling like a forty something f##k up. Given the opportunity of a new job, Nell took the challenge and struck up an unlikely friendship with 80 year old Cricket.
With new adventures, friendships and a secret pod cast Nell’s life starts to be on the up. When her friends discover Nell has a secret pod cast, they start to reveal that their lives are no so perfect either.
Right from the start this book was so honest and i can imagine most 40 somethings can relate to Nell’s up and downs. I especially liked the gratitude as this proves that everyday there are small wins to be grateful for. Even if you are not yet in your 40’s you really do need to read this book as it will make you laugh, cry and be totally hooked on Nell’s journey to a better life.

Close Knit by Jenny Colgan
I have to be totally honest about what i think about the books i read. I’m really disappointed to say that i didn’t love Close Knit. I really wanted to as the character Gertie is a lovely quiet girl living on a remote Scottish island. Gertie has a love of knitting thanks her mum and the knitting community called the KC’s. Gertie always felt like she didn’t fit in and she wanted to be brave and have the courage to live the life she really wants. When a chance meeting with some old friends from school happens, opportunities start too arise for Gertie. This leads to new friends, a new job, a new place to live and a new romance.
The story is really heartwarming, but for me it just took a bit too long to get going. I felt it is quite drawn out in the middle, almost to the point that i stopped reading. But i didn’t as i like to finish the books that i start reading. The last few chapters are when the story really gets going and at that point the story really picks up. The end part of the story is quite gripping and it did leave me wanting to keep reading to see how it was all going to end. I wanted to know if Gertie got her happy ever after.
It was a lovely story with great characters and with a hint of romance at the end. But for me it was just too slow getting going.

Love Untold By Ruth Jones
I have always been a big fan of Ruth Jones, so i was really excited to read her book, Love Untold. The book perfectly entwines the lives of Grace, Alys, Elin and Beca. Grace is almost 90, loves the quiet life and likes to swim in the sea. Alys is the estranged daughter of Grace. Alys has very colourful past that has lead her to have not spoken to her mum, Grace for 30 years. Elin is the granddaughter of Grace. Elin was brought up by Grace but she has her own life issues to deal with. Beca is the daughter of Elin and great granddaughter of Grace. With a mind of her own and a strong love for her Grama Grace. This is a really heart warming story of 4 generations of women all from the same family.
Love Untold is really well written and i love how each of the characters got their moment in the spot light. The story is written in past and present, which i love as it gave a better understanding of the characters and the lives that they live. Being written this way it helps to understand why the characters are the way they are as due to their background and past experiences. The final chapters of the book could never have been predicted but were so well thought out and written. It really made the perfect ending.
Love Untold is a really heartwarming and compassionate story that everyone should read. Be warned it will warm your heart, make you laugh but it may also make you cry (just a little bit).

The Happiest Ever After By Millie Johnson
I love Millie Johnson as an author so i was looking forwards to reading The Happiest Ever After, and it did not disappoint. Right from the start i was intrigued by the character Polly Potter. Polly had a great job that she loved and was very good at it. Whilst she felt fulfilled and challenged at work, her home life was very different. Chris, was her long term partner who didn’t really understand her or pay her much attention. Chris had a sister called Camay as well as 2 children, Will and Shauna. What Chris didn’t realise was Polly knew he had cheated on her. The only thing that Polly could focus on was the novel that she had been writing about her character Sabrina Anderson.
Polly’s job came to an end as her new boss decided to make her life hell. This was the point that Polly packed up her stuff and decided it was time to leave her old life behind for a fresh start. With her love of the seaside, Polly knew thats where she wanted to be. With her plan executed Polly arrived in Shoresend. Following an accident, Polly woke up in hospital believing that she was in fact Sabrina Anderson and had no memory of the past.
All was not lost…
Taken in by a local ex nurse called Marielle, Sabrina was well looked after and provided with a place to stay. To earn money Sabrina started working in a local Italian Restaurant run by Marielle’s son, Teddy. Making new friends and enjoying life Sabrina was starting to really enjoy life and Teddy’s company. After a few up and downs Sabrina’s memory stared to return and Chris managed to track her down. Deciding she could no longer live her life as Sabrina once she knew she was really Polly, she returned back home.
Polly was re-employed with an apology from her boss, along with a promotion. Working back at her old job gave Polly something to focus on. Life at home was just the same, with Chris still not paying her any attention. Her heart seemed to be in Shoresend. Seeing an opportunity to help Teddy out, Polly took the chance knowing it would cause upset for Chris. But it was something Polly had to do. It was her only way of getting her happiest ever after.
I loved this book, i love Millie’s style of wriying and i would definitely recommend you reading it if you enjoy romantic fiction.

The Diary Of A CEO by Steven Bartlett
After reading Happy Sexy Millionaire i was keen to read The Diary of a CEO. The book outlines Steven’s 33 Laws of business and life. Right from the start the book is packed with practical advice great tips and plenty of examples of what he is talking about. Each one of the Laws is broken down and Steven offers great tips and advice for each one.
Some of the Laws i was familiar with, but even so, Steven’s advice was really helpful. It also gives you food for thought and offers a whole new perspective to different scenarios. It throws a real curve ball at times which i found very insightful. There are also lots of great quotes from other entrepreneurs along with business principles that will apply to any business industry.
I would highly advise reading The Diary of a CEO as it really offers a great insight into making life and business better.

A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen
This is not the type of book that i would normally read, but i was really drawn to this book. Maybe its because we have a ginger cat too. I am really pleased i read this book as i found it one of the most inspirational books that i have ever read. James highlights how hard living in London is whilst trying to make a living busking on the street just to eat. As a former drug addict James wanted to turn his life around but found it incredibly difficult due to the situation he was in.
Life was about to change when a stray cat started sleeping in James’s apartment block. James took in the injured cat, got it medical help and as they say the rest is history. From that day on Bob (James named him Bob) never left James’s side following him to London to sit with him whilst he was busking. The pair became inseparable. James was determined to turn his life around for the better thanks to Bob entering his life.
This really is an inspiring story of how your life can suddenly change direction. I would highly recommend everyone to read A Street Cat Named Bob. I can not wait to read The world according to Bob.
With the end of the year upon us i have run out of time to read any more books. I am still reading though, and will continue to share with you the books that i read next year. Hopefully i will find more time to read so i can share even more books with you next year.
